To attend collectorate-gherao programme in four tribal districts

AICC general secretary and state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada will be on three-day Bastar tour from September 12, 2012. During his tour, he will attend party’s collectorate-gherao programme in four districts of the region – Bijapur (September 12), Jagdalpur (September 13) and Narayanpur and Kondagaon (September 14).
During his visit, he will be accompanied by PCC president Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey and other senior leaders.
Notably, with an objective to win more Assembly seats in Bastar division, the party had recently organised different events in the tribal belt from workers’ training camp to monitoring committee meetings to unite the partymen.
Presently, the Congress has only one Assembly seat (Konta) in Bastar won by Kawasi Lakhma while the rest seven Vidhan Sabha seats (Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Bastar, Jagdalpur, Chitrakot, Dantewada and Bijapur) belonged to BJP.
