The Dussera Utsav 2012 at WRS colony commenced with bhoomipujan conducted by Housing & Environment Minister Rajesh Munat recently. The president of Sarvajanik Dussera Utsav Samiti (SDUS) Gowardhan Khandelwal informed that WRS Dussera Utsav would be historical this year.
The committee has done adequate arrangement for Dussera festival, said Khandelwal. Munat, who is chief patron of the committee, has issued necessary guidelines to the committee members by convening a meeting recently, he added.
The chief artist and patron of the construction committee Rajpal Lumba and president S Jairam informed that Dussera festival preparation takes one month time. “This year, we will build massive statues of Ravan, Kumbhkaran and Meghnath and decorate them as maharajas,” they said.
“The statues will be build with the help of railway staffers and local residents including artists S Jagannath, P Ishwar Rao, Suryanarayan Rao, Mahendra Singh, Lekhram Pal, Suraj Kumar, M Raja along with over 70 child artists,” the duo informed.
The secretary of construction committee Narendra Pandey informed that Dussera Utsav 2012 would be remembered for attractive decoration of the three statutes which will reflect Rajasthani art. “Besides, the statues would be adorned with symbolic jewelleries,” he added.
