People reject BJP rallies: Congress

Raipur, September 08, 2012

Congress on Saturday said people of Chhattisgarh had completely rejected BJP rallies against coalgate scam in every district headquarter of the state. “Despite misusing government machinery and squandering abundant money, the BJP failed to muster sufficient crowd,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.

“This is the second consecutive time when the people spurned the BJP rally as just recently its Raipur demonstration featuring former party chief Rajnath Singh proved to be a damp squib,” Shukla said.

“The BJP cannot come clean merely by mudslinging on Congress-led UPA government at Centre. The people are severely upset with state government for posing generosity towards Sancheti brothers while giving them job of commercial mining of Bhatgaon-II and Bhatgaon-II extension coal blocks. Hence they are refusing acknowledge BJP rallies,” he added.

He said the BJP, while crusading to take political mileage on coal scam, got shell-shocked when the taints of coal appeared on Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh’s face.

“The BJP is confused now as it is unable to frame fresh strategy to grill the Centre on coal scam,” he added.

‘Mind your language’

State Congress president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey have strongly objected over the language used by the BJP leaders against opposition terming it offensive.

“The language and words used by the ruling party members are extremely of low standard and prove that they have lost their compos mentis after their rallies marked thin public attendance,” the duo said.

“The people are disapproving the BJP because of its doublespeak on coal scam. While the BJP created stir in parliament after CAG reports on coal blocks allocation surfaced, it refrained from discussing on it when its government in Chhattisgarh was found tainted into the matter,” they said.
