Three-member IAS panel to filter transfer applications today

Raipur, September 06, 2012

To filter erroneous transfer orders, a three-member committee constituted by the government will filter about 1500 applications on Friday. Notably, the panel was formed on directives of High Court which had earlier rebuked the government on bulk transfers done during July-August 2011.

The government had transferred about ten percent of its two lakh officials and employees under its transfer policy last year. However, many affected staffers termed their transfer against rules as some had been posted elsewhere before their three-year tenure completion while the others were transferred even thrice in one year.

Upset by the government policy, the affected staffers moved to High Court which in turn stayed their transfer orders and asked the government to filter the erroneous transfers by constituting a committee.

The panel, comprising three senor IAS officials NK Aswal, RP Mandal and Manoj Pingua, has asked the disgruntled lots to send applications by August 31, 2012. The committee received 1500 applications till the given date.

According to information, highest number of erroneous transfers has been done in School Education Department which first issued orders of bulk transfer of assistant lecturers and then cancelled it later.

The other departments where transfers are being questioned are – PWD, PHE, Panchayat and Rural Development Department, etc.
