Juneja demands rehab for slum-dwellers near rail track

Raipur, August 29, 2012

Raipur North MLA from Congress Kuldeep Singh Juneja on Wednesday demanded rehabilitation package for slum-dwellers on either side of Raipur-Vishakhapatnam rail line.
“The Railways will soon start laying second rail line for Raipur-Vishakhapatnam route. This will displace several poor families residing near the rail track for the past 30-40 years,” he said.
In this connection, Juneja met DRM PC Mishra and requested him to rehabilitate the slum-dweller elsewhere before commencing second rail line project.
“We have suggested Mishra to rehabilitate the affected people in the house made for poor under Centre’s Basic Services to Urban Poor (BSUP) scheme. We further urged him to ensure basic provision of basic facilities like water, electricity, etc in new location. Mishra has assured us of considering our request,” Juneja said.
During his meeting with Mishra, Juneja was accompanied by Radheshyam Vibhar, Akash Tiwari, Thakur Ram Sahu, Sanjay Soni, Sharad Shukla, Amitesh Bhardwaj, Sunil Chatwani, Sunil Bhuwal, Kanwaldeep Juneja, Charanjeet, etc.
