76 milk samples fail purity test in Tatibandh

Raipur, September 06, 2012

The residents of Tatibandh are consuming adulterated milk and paying one and a half to two times the rate of the state-owned Devbhog milk. The revelation was done by a team of Raipur Sahkari Dugdh Utpadak Sangh Limited (RSDUSL) which conducted purity test of 83 milk samples in mobile milk testing laboratory and found 73 samples adulterated.

The RSDUSL, which has launched consumer awareness campaign – ‘doodh ka doodh – paani ka paani’ in the capital city informed that while the government’s Devbhog milk meeting purity standard is available at the rate of Rs 30 per litre, the Tatibandh residents are paying adulterated milk at the rate of Rs 40-50 per litre.

The RSDUSL president Rasik Parmar informed that the sangh received overwhelming response from people when its teams started testing milk purity through mobile laboratories.

“Although our teams are collecting milk samples from every house, the people are so aware that they too are flooding to mobile labs to get the milk samples tested,” he said.

He advised people to use pure milk and opt for Devbhog instead of paying high rate for adulterated milk.

He informed that the RSDUSL, under its ongoing drive, will conduct purity test of milk samples in Kota Friday.
