Terming BJP public rally on coalgate scam as a flop show, Congress on Saturday said the presence of small crowd at Gandhi Maidan was an evident indicator of the ruling party’s shrinking mandate.
“The BJP had thrown entire government machinery to make the rally successful but failed to fill even 3000 chairs. The ministers too tried to convert public into BJP stalwarts using bucks, but in vain,” said Congress spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla.
He said the reason behind thin crowd in BJP show was corruption prevailed in the government. “Even the few, who reached Gandhi Maidan, had expected that former BJP national president Rajnath Singh would rebuke Chief Minister Raman Singh on coal blocks scam, but he posed mysterious silence over it,” he added.
