State Congress president Nandkumar Patel will hold monthly meeting of the party office-bearers’ at 12 pm in Congress Bhawan on September 3, 2012. CLP leader Ravindra Choubey will also be present in the meeting.
PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda informed that Patel would discuss over party’s ongoing collectorate-gherao programmes and Assembly-level training camps.
Notably, the Congress started collectorate-gherao programme under its anti-government movement from August 9. The objective of the movement is to mount pressure on the government to address problems like inordinate power bills, frequent power cuts, black marketing of fertilisers and seeds, etc. the movement will conclude at Raipur on October 1, 2012.
Similarly, the party is organising Assembly level training camps in all the 51 BJP bastions.
With Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi asking the partymen to intensify their attack on BJP in wake of latter’s stand on coalgate, the state unit, in its September 3 meeting, will chalk out strategy to make its collectorate-gherao more aggressive.
This meeting will be attended by party’s vice presidents, general secretaries, treasurer and chief PCC spokesperson.
Chhabda informed that on same day the meeting of disciplinary committee would be held at 3 pm.
Collectorate-gherao prog at Rajnandgaon today
The Congress will gherao Rajnandgaon collectorate under its anti-government movement at 12 pm on Friday. PCC president Nandkumar Patel will also participate in this programme. The party on Thursday gheraoed Raigarh collectorate in which Patel was present along with CLP leader Ravindra Choubey.
