Kanwar’s remark unsuitable: Mahant

Raipur, September 25, 2012

Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Industry Charandas Mahant has termed state Home Minister Nankiram Kanwar’s remark against him as unsuitable.

Mahant said he does not take Kanwar’s statement seriously when pointed that the latter called him mad for speaking against Chief Minister Raman Singh.

Backing Mahant, state Congress president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey too condemned Kanwar’s remark against the Central minister.

They said Kanwar resorted to unbecoming language to hog limelight. “Kanwar is a lost man in his own party as he did not get suitable position according to his seniority. He is the minister without rights. He has admitted publicly that the officials of his department do not follow his instructions. Hence, we do not expect balanced language from him,” they said.

“Mahant had stated facts as a responsible leader of the principal opposition party in state while Kanwar’s reply is an evident indicator of growing frustrating in BJP against Congress,” the duo said.
