Congress asks NHAI to repair service roads

Raipur, September 24, 2012

The Congress has asked National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) to repair damaged service roads at Ring Road No 1. In this connection, the Congress workers led by party leader Shiekh Shakeel submitted memorandums to Raipur Collector Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, SSP Raipur Dipanshu Kaabra and NHAI Manager Technical urging them to take quick initiative for convenience of motorists pointing that the road stretch from Tatibandh to Telibandha had become accident-prone zone.

“The service roads on either side of the fourlane road do not exist at all as only potholes can be seen from Tatibandh to Telibandha. This has happened due to frequent movement of heavy vehicles on service roads. Eventually, the number of road mishaps has increased between Tatibandh to Telibandha,” said Shakeel.

“We have requested the capable authorities to mount pressure on DS Construction, the agency hired by the NHAI to accomplish task of fourlane project at Ring Road No 1, to repair service roads quickly,” he added.

Shakeel informed that the Collector had given seven-day ultimatum to NHAI officials to address the problems at Ring Road No 1 to prevent action against the agency by district administration.

On the occasion, Shakeel was accompanied by Rahul Singh Chouhan, Prakash Ramteke, Sewak Mahanand, Rashid Khan, Prakash Vishwakarma, Puneet Singh, Tankdhar Deep, Mohammad Faizam, Harish Advani, Deependra Dewangan, Rohit Shrivas, Anant Shukla, Damrudhar, etc.
