Raipur, September 06, 2012

Congress has foreboded that the BJP’s attempt to prove Chief Minister Raman Singh untainted in coalgate scam through its proposed September 8 demonstration in every district headquarters will be a grand failure.

“The Raman Singh-government has squandered rich mineral resources of the state and the people are well aware of it. Now, there is least chance of BJP’s ploys to mislead people clicking,” said chief Congress spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi.

“The Congress reiterates that ruling party should invite BJP president Nitin Gadkari and Ajay Sancheti in its demonstrations programmes in 27 districts of the state. Let, Gadkari and Sancheti put their side of story in coal blocks allocation in Chhattisgarh,” he said.

He asked the BJP to announce of demanding resignation from CM post coalgate scam during its demonstration programme to mitigate public angst. He said the BJP government should disclose the letters of recommendation written to the Centre for coal blocks allocation.

“The BJP leaders must admit before people of Chhattisgarh that its government sold Bhatgaon-II and Bhatgaon-II extension coal blocks to SMS Infrastructure Limited after getting it allocated for CMDC to meet coal requisites of local industrial units,” he demanded.

He said the BJP should also tell the location of plant owned by its leader Neena Singh’s spouse in Chhattisgarh besides releasing the photographs of industrial unit.
