Government has postponed its nagar suraj campaign which was supposed to be organised from January 16-22. The officials of Urban Administration Department informed that the campaign was postponed due to inaugural ceremonies of nine new districts being organised amidst January 11 to 25. Notably, after its gram suraj campaign, the government had decided to organise nagar suraj drive and to visit 3084 wards of the state. There are total ten municipal corporations in the state with 513 wards, 32 municipal councils - 681wards and 126 nagar panchayats - 1890 wards. The government was earlier scheduled to organise nagar swaraj drive from December 18-25, 2011, but had postponed it.
