The Youth Congress (YC) burnt an effigy of the owner of Shree Cement at dharna spot Budhapara on Saturday.
The YC’s Raipur South general secretary Sandeep Tiwari said that the cement company’s owner had purchased large tracts of lands from poor tribals in Balodabazar at very low rate which was clear indicator that pressure tactics had been adopted to exploit the innocent people.
“Such dealings cannot be done without involvement of government and administration,” he said demanding CBI inquiry into the entire matter.
In this connection, he said, the YC would also submit a memorandum to Governor Shekhar Dutt in the coming days.
He further demanded from the government to fix responsibility and take stern action against the guilty people.
“We also want the government to ensure that the tribals who sold lands to Shree Cement get fair price of the deal and if it is not possible then registration of all such lands should be cancelled,” Tiwari said.
On the occasion, Tiwari was accompanied by YC’s Raipur North general secretary Dilip Singh Chouhan, Akash Shamra, Bhavesh Shukla, Azhar Rahman, Mayank Thakur, Amit Andani, etc.
