Usher in archaeological works to youngsters uniquely: Agrawal


Raipur, January 16, 2012 

The Tourism and Culture Minister Brijmohan Agrawal has urged the archaeologists to introduce their research works and findings to younger generation in unique manner so that they may feel pride of the rich past of their country. Agrawal’s words came during the inaugural session of three-day national symposium on archaeological research at conference hall of Guru Ghasidas Museum on Monday.
“Chhattisgarh is one of the most significant state in the country in terms of archaeology as it has rich civilisations in the past. The places like Sirpur, Tala, Malhar, Barsur, Rajim, Shivrinarayan, Pachrahi, Ratanpur and Madkudeep can reveal many more facts about Chhattisgarh on excavation,” Agrawal said.
He said that the Archaeological Society of India (ASI) nodded for excavation in several places of Chhattisgarh after years of attempts of the state government.
He said taking cue of ancient civilisations which usually developed near rivers, majority of the nations in the current era too were adopting the cult and India must also follow the suit.
Greeting all the experts arrived from different parts of the country to take part in the symposium, Agrawal urged them to give inputs regarding excavation in Chhattisgarh after going through its archaeologically important places.
