Raipur, January 20, 2012

The Congress on Friday hailed 363 new posts being approved by Union Rural Development Minister Jairam Ramesh in state’s District Rural Development Authority (DRDA). The PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said that not only the local youth would get job opportunities in DRDA, but their presence would also ensure strict monitoring of different schemes run by the Centre for development of rural pockets.
The duo informed that the Centre is providing funds for rural developmental schemes including MNREGA, PMGSY, Rajiv Gandhi Shiksha Mission, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, mid-day meal programme, Rashtriya Gramin Swasthya Mission, Indira Awas Yojna, rural drinking water scheme, National Urban Renewal Scheme, Rajiv Gandhi Rural Electrification Scheme, integrated child development services, complete literacy programme, national agriculture development programme, etc.
The duo also hailed the initiative taken by Ramesh for six newly formed districts of the state and writing letter to vice chairman of Planning Commission of India Montek Singh Ahluwalia to announce them as naxal-hit districts.
“The people of Balrampur, Surajpur, Balod, Sukma and Kondagaon will surely get benefit of the Central schemes if their districts would be included in the list of naxal-infested districts,” the duo said.
