Raipur, January 06, 2012

Congress has demanded from state government to disclose expenditure details of Rs 87000 crore it has received from Centre in last eight years.  “There is no development in the state. Corruption prevails everywhere. The government must explain how it spent such a whopping amount,” said PCC president Nandkumar Patel during district-level workers’ meeting at newly formed Mungeli district on Friday.
He said the government was also doing injustice to the people of scheduled caste by reducing their reservation quota. He assured that Congress would justice on quota system when it will come in power.
Enumerating the list of Congress-led UPA government’s achievements, the AICC general secretary and party’s state unit incharge BK Hariprasada said that the Centre launched MNREGA to ensure at least 100-day job for poor every year, but the state government instead of implementing it effectively rather preferred to misuse the funds.
The AICC secretary and state’s incharge secretary Bhakt Charandas said that the BJP government was solely responsible for corruption in Centrally-sponsored schemes and anarchy in the state.
The CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said that the BJP’s claims to have turned the state into power hub of the country proved to be empty boasting as it rather made it a corruption hub. He said ironically the power surplus state was buying power from others.
Former Chief Minister Ajit Jogi said the BJP government was liar and corrupt. He said the eight years of BJP’s bad governance resulted in financial strengthening of its own leaders and distress of the commoners.
The meeting was also addressed by party legislators Dharmjeet Singh and Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia along with Churavan Mangeskar, Chandrabhan Barmate, Siyaram Kaushik, Anil Soni and Rajman Singh.
