Over 700 govt engineers hold fake graduation degrees: CSSAS

Raipur, January 21, 2012

Chhattisgarh Shaskiya Snatak Abhiyanta Sangh (CSSAS) has claimed that over 700 government engineers from different departments have obtained fake graduation degrees under part time degree course (PTDC) programme and are taking benefits like salary hike, promotions and other perks. Demanding stern action against these engineers the sangh said, “Ironically, they claim their degrees as original and that of others who have obtained degrees through PTDC from government engineering colleges as fake.”
“The leader of these fake degree holders is junior engineer Sanat Kumar Sharma from Water Resources Department who is in the government service for the past 28 years. He obtained his B Tech degree (under PTDC programme) two years back from Janardan Rai Nagar Vidyapeeth (Deemed University) Udaipur Rajasthan, an unrecognised varsity in the country. More than 700 engineers have obtained similar degree. Now Sharma has become leader of all these fake degree holders and misleading the government,” said CSSAS state president Tapan Chakravarthy and general secretary UK Suraj.
“Terming degrees provided under PTDC programme by the government universities as fake is a serious crime. If Sharma and other engineers, being the government servants themselves, are spreading this rumour and deceiving the administration then it is high time to take punitive action against them,” the duo said.
They informed that the sangh had also complained against Shamra to Governor in the past but the government remained silent. The demanded from the government to register criminal case against Sharma for violating Civil Services Code and take disciplinary action against him after conducting inquiry into the entire matter.
