The
AICC general secretary and state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada has said that
the workers would make the party victorious in next Assembly elections slated
to be held in 2013. “The Congress is identified due to its hardworking partymen
and its success depends on their efforts,” said Hariprasada while he was addressing
large number of workers at Baikunthpur (Koria) during party’s district-level meeting
on Thursday.
He said the party
needed to pose strong challenge to ruling BJP in the coming elections by unitedly
raising voice against it. “The Congress-led UPA government at Centre had
launched several schemes for the people and it is responsibility of the workers
to inform about it to the people of Chhattisgarh and expose the BJP government,”
he said.
The Union Minister of State for Agriculture and
Food Processing Charandas Mahant too said that the party would regain power in
the state on the basis of workers’ performance. “It is time to expose corrupt
face of the BJP government which is deeply involved in corruption in Central-sponsored
schemes and misusing their funds in elections,” Said Mahant.
The AICC secretary and
state’s incharge secretary Bhakt Charandas said the Congress would succeed in
2013 polls on the basis of its public service. “The party has always aimed to
serve people and become its voice. It is doing it before Independence and will
continue to do it in future,” he said.
PCC president Nandkumar
Patel felt that the party needed to consolidate and prepare for 2013 polls at
booth-level. “The BJP government has given fear, starvation and corruption to
the people of Chhattisgarh. Our responsibility is to dethrone this corrupt government,”
he said.
The CLP leader Ravindra
Choubey said that all the office-bearers and workers needed to coordinate each
other in winning next elections. He said the party mantra would be to inform the
government’s misdeeds to the people.
The meeting was attended
by PCC general secretary and party’s Korba Lok Sabha incharge Dr Premsai Singh
Tekam, Koria DCC president Nazir Ahmed, Surajpur DCC president US Singhdeo, Vedanti
Tiwari, Yawat Singh, Gulab Singh, Krishnamurari Tiwari, party office-bearers of
Koria and Sarguja DCCs and large number of workers.
