Cong workers’ meet in four districts begins today

The Congress will start its district-level workers’ meeting in four districts of the state from Wednesday. The meetings will be organised by Balrampur, Surajpur, Koria and Mungeli districts.
The meetings in all the districts would be attended by state Congress incharge BK Hariprasada, incharge secretary Bhakt Charandas, PCC president Nandkumar Patel, CLP leader Ravindra Choubey and deputy CLP leader Rampukar Singh. Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Food Processing Charandas Mahant will be especially present at workers’ meeting in Koria district.
With party maintaining to increase its attacks on the government in 2012 and beginning the New Year with dharna in favour of farmers in Kharsiya on January 1, the back-to-back district-level workers’ meetings in four districts in three days would again be a major opportunity for all senior party leaders to gather at one platform and urge the workers to unite for their mission 2013.
The party has decided to raise all the major issues in its district-level meeting to continue conveying message to the public that despite its frequent protest movements, the government remained inactive.
In next three days, the party will raise the issues of illegal mining, scams in MNREGA and PMGSY works, PMT paper leak episode, eye camp incidents in Balod, Rajnandgaon and Kawardha, lands being acquired forcibly for power plants in Janjgir-Champa and nearby districts, illegal sale-purchase of tribal lands, selling of dams, Rs 270 paddy bonus, rising naxal violence, lawlessness, human trafficking, farmers’ suicide, forcible eviction of poor on the name of encroachment without rehabilitating them in advance, etc.
Earlier, the party was scheduled to organise the meetings from January 3-6, but on instructions of Hariprasada, it decided to conduct meetings from January 4-6. Sources informed that due to his hectic schedule, Hariprasada was unable to reach the state on January 3.

The meetings will begin from one of the new districts formed in North Chhattisgarh - Balrampur. The meeting will start at 11 am in this region on January 4. On the same day, another workers’ meet will be organised at Surajpur at 2 pm.
On January 5, the meeting at Koria district will begin at 11 am while on the following day, the forth workers’ meeting will be held at Mungeli district at 11 am.
To attend the meetings, Hariprasada and incharge secretary Bhakt Charandas will reach state capital on Wednesday morning from New Delhi. Then the duo along with Patel and Choubey will leave for Balrampur via helicopter.
The meeting in four districts will also be attended by - Chandrabhan Singh Barmate, Vedprakash Sharma, Dr Premsai Singh Tekam, Dr Shiv Kumar Daharia, senior party leaders, legislators along with state, district and block-level office-bearers of the party’s morchas and cells and workers.
