Raipur, January 11, 2011

Finally, the cement companies have buckled down before the pressure of Nagrik Sangharsh Morcha (NSM) which was agitating with its demand from these companies to curtail cement prices for the past several days. While Century Cement has accepted three conditions of the morcha, the other companies including Grasim, L&T, Ambuja, etc have shown positive sign during talks with the morcha members and are likely to take decision in favour of consumers very soon.
Notably, the NSM was jointly formed by different political parties including BJP and Congress to protest abrupt hike in cement prices. The morcha’s agitation was led by BJP MLA Devji Bhai Patel and Congress MLA Kuldeep Juneja.
On Tuesday, the morcha not only prevented workers to enter Century factory, but also stopped other works. Besides, the morcha members staged massive dharna which was addressed by several leaders including Congress general secretary Ramesh Warlyani.
