Hitting
at the ruling BJP in wake of Jashpur Collector Ankit Anand’s critical remark
against the district, the Congress said the government was responsible for
growing indiscipline among babus. “The government has completely failed to
control these babus who continue to give it embarrassing moments through their
controversial works or statements,” said PCC spokesperson Sushil Anand Shukla
on Saturday.
Shukla
claims that Anand’s statement had hidden interpretation. “If Anand being the
Collector of Jashpur terms it the worst district and Sarguja as the worst
division of the country, they it is a serious matter. By saying so, he is
rather showing mirror to the ruling party. Besides, he is also expressing his
frustration over virtual halt in development works due to predominance of
corruption and weak administrative system,” Shukla added.
“Anand’s
remark also indicates that the government and the babus think differently and
are not in consensus over public related issues. If such condition prevails,
then is bad omen for the state. The Chief Minister should come forwards and
clarify about the government’s failure in dealing the babus,” he said.
Shukla
said Anand’s statement rather carried same tone what the BJP parliamentarian
Dilip Singh Judeo and BJP MLA Jageshwar Ram Bhagat used against it recently.
“Judeo
is Lok Sabha member from Bilaspur but hails from Jashpur. Similarly, Bhagat is
legislator from Jashpur. While Judeo has overtly expressed his concern over
rising ‘administrative terrorism’ in the Jashpur as well as in the entire
state, Bhagat too had staged dharna in his constituency for the same reason.
Still, the government has not taken any measure to check untrammeled babus,”
Shukla said.
