BPT course lags by 2 yrs from academic calendar

Raipur, April 10, 2012

The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) courses run by different colleges in state and affiliated to Pt Ravishankar Shukla University (RSU) is lagging by two years from varsity’s academic calendar. The NSUI members along with BPT students on Tuesday protested before RSU administrative office and submitted a memorandum to registrar KK Chandrakar on the name of vice chancellor demanding general promotion for year back students as compensation. The NSUI’s state vice president Subodh Haritwal said that the four and a half-year BPT course was lagging behind the academic calendar due to indifference of the varsity administration.
“The varsity was well-aware of the situation and even after frequent requests and reminders regarding slowing BPT course, it made least efforts in favour of the students. The year back students are at huge loss due to varsity’s attitude as they are unable to make a mindset for their further studies, be it a post graduation course or any other entrance exam like UPSC or PSC,” said Haritwal.
“With no other alternative left for two year study loss of the BPT students, the varsity should announce general promotion for first, second and third year students,” he said.
The NSUI also demanded declaration of the results of BPT supplementary exams 2012 by April end and announcement of results of revaluation of BPT second year quickly.
To check further delay in the course, the NSUI demanded commencement of BPT annual exam 2012 from June second week. “Time-table of the annual exams should be announced quickly so that the students could start their preparations,” said Haritwal.
The NSUI warned that the students would put their demands before Governor and Chancellor Shekhar Dutt if the varsity would not accept their demands.
On the occasion, Haritwal was accompanied by Dr Heena Lahre, Mohit Shrivastava, Gulzeb Ahmed, Nadeem Salat, Chinu Pandey, Shiva Khandelwal, Mayank Gulati, Kunal, Gaurav Maheshwari, Shashikant Barore, Abhishek Agrawal, Premprakash Anand, Leena Churendra, Rashmi Sidar, etc.
