Conduct KV classes at morning: Cong to DRM

Raipur, April 19, 2012

Congress has demand from SECR Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) to change the school timings of WRS Colony-based Kendriya Vidyalaya (KV) and conduct classes in the morning hours considering rising mercury in the capital city.
A delegation of Congress members led by DCC Raipur Urban president Inderchand Dhariwal on Thursday submitted a memorandum to the DRM and demanded that the KV classes timings should be changed from existing 11 am - 4 pm to 7:30 am – 11 am with effective from April 21.
“The temperature in the city is hovering around 43 degree Celsius and is certainly causing inconvenience to the schoolchildren, a sizable chunk of whom are getting ill. Hence, the KV classes should be conducted in morning hours,” Dhariwal said.

Demand to extend Durg-Jaipur exp up to Ajmer

The Congress delegation also demanded extension of Durg-Jaipur express up to Ajmer. “The Union Railway Minister had announced that the Durg-Jaipur express will be extended to Ajmer from April 1, 2012 but it has not been done till date,” the delegation pointed. The DRM assured the delegation of writing a letter to the Railway ministry in this regard. The delegation further demanded provision of a foot overbridge for passengers on the other side of the railway station towards Ramnagar. Besides, the Congmen reminded the DRM that the rail ticket booking counter behind platform number 6 did not remain open round the clock as was announced. “The DRM has informed that soon a booking clerk will be appointed and the counter timings will be extended from 12 hours to 24 hours,” the delegation said.
