Cong to submit memo to Swami Ramdev


Raipur, April 24, 2012

With Swami Ramdev set to launch his protest movement against corruption from Dalli Rajhara, the Congress has decided to submit memorandum to him against graft cases done by Chhattisgarh government on his arrival at Raipur on May 1, 2012.
According to information, Congress is concerned of Ramdev’s anti-corruption campaign as he will target the UPA government at Centre. This time, Anna Hazare too has hinted that he would jointly raise voice against corruption with Ramdev. The state Congress leaders fear that Ramdev’s movement might negatively impact their drive against the state government.
Hence, the party’s national leadership has instructed the state unit to gherao Ramdev before he could attack the UPA government.
In this connection, PCC president Nandkumar has constituted a committed chaired by former MLA Ghanaram Sahu that would submit memorandum to Ramdev at Mana airport.
Patel has also reportedly asked party’s frontal organisations including Youth Congress, NSUI and different cells and morchas to remain prepared to counter Ramdev’s movement.
The committee that will meet Ramdev comprises of convenor – PCC general secretary Ramesh Warlyani, members – Subhash Sharma, Bhupesh Baghel, Arun Vora (all party general secretaries), Abdul Hameed Hayat (PCC executive member), DCC Durg Urban president RN Verma, DCC Bemetara president Ganesh Gausewak, DCC Balod president Domendra Bhediya and party secretary Amit Pandey.
