Congress has demanded from School Education department to make slight change in the school timings in the summer and make it from 7:30 am to 10:30 am.
“The department has asked the schools to conduct classes from 7:30 am to 11:30 am but the mercury soars from morning onwards and heat waves start by 11 am. Hence the classes should be conducted till 10:30 am,” said DCC Raipur Urban president Inderchand Dhariwal on Saturday.
He informed that a delegation of Congress would submit a memorandum in this connection to the Collector and District Education Officer (DEO) on April 16.
“Our memorandum will also include the timing of Aanganbadi centres where children from 3-5 years of age are being taught from 8 am to 12 pm. We will request the district administration to change the timing of Aanganbadi centres to 7 am to 10 am,” he said.
“Our memorandum will further include high fee being charged by the private schools. We will urge the district administration to direct the private schools to return the excess fees being taken from the students,” he added.
