Congress is planning to give double whammy to ruling BJP in this month by raising burning issues during its vada nibhao fortnight (from April 16-30) and exposing government’s non-committal face during gram suraj campaign starting April 18.
While the party’s senior leaders are scheduled to meet on April 12 to chalk out strategy for vada nibhao fortnight, the key responsibility to take on the government during gram suraj campaign has been assigned to heads of the party’s different cells and departments by PCC chief Nandkumar Patel during a significant meeting that held at Congress Bhawan on Monday.
The PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda informed that the heads of cells and departments would play greater role as they would not only raise CAG reports and the issues like lathicharge on tribals, proposed power tariff hike, Rs 270 bonus and free power up to 5 HP to farmers, etc but would also expose the government wherever it failed to redress complaints obtained during previous gram suraj campaign.
Patel asked the heads of cells and departments to attempt redressing the grievances of the people during gram suraj campaign as party’s image building exercise.
The party’s Monday meeting is said to be important because Patel wants the Congress cells and departments to continue their movement against the government restlessly after April with an objective to achieve larger goals in 2013 and 2014.
The meeting was attended by PCC vice presidents Baijnath Chandrakar and Pushpa Devi Singh, party treasurer Ramgopal Agrawal along with Dr Shakrajeet Nayak, Haji Sheikh Nijamuddin, Kanhaiyya Agrawal, Shivnarayan Dwivedi, Lalit Mishra, Jeevan Lal Sahu, Mahendra Kochchar, Yogendra Sharma, Mohanmani Jatwar, Deenanath Sahu, Shiv Singh Thakur, Rajsh Sharma, Suresh Mishra, Ashok Shivhare, Harish Tiwari, etc.
