Cong gears up for April 30 rally

Raipur, April 28, 2012

Congress has completed final preparations regarding public rally on the concluding day of its vada nibhao fortnight at Raipur on April 30. PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda informed that the party was ready for the final show of the fortnight as it would be participated by three national leaders and all the senior leaders of the state.
Chhabda said that the vada nibhao fortnight filled the workers with new energy as the senior party leaders intensely conducted public rallies in different parts of the state.
Notably, to ensure success of the fortnight, the party had formed four teams of which one was led by PCC president Nandkumar Patel and three others were led by – CLP leader Ravindra Choubey, deputy CLP leader Rampukar Singh and legislator TS Singhdeo and chairman of Congress monitoring committee Arvind Netam and senior party leader Satyanarayan Sharma.
“In the backdrop of government’s gram suraj abhiyan, we continuously reminded the ruling party about the promises it made to the public but never fulfilled them. We reminded the government that 516784 applications received by it during previous GSA have not yet been addressed. We reminded the BJP about its poll manifesto in 2008 under which it had promised the farmers to provide Rs 270 paddy bonus and free electricity up to 5 HP for irrigation,” said Chhabda.
“We also informed the people about the reports disclosed by Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) regarding irregularities done by the government. Besides, we raised the issues like lathicharge on innocent tribals, use of duplicate medicines to conduct surgery of eye patients in government camps that eventually rendered the patients complaining about loss of eyesight, proposed hike in power tariff, etc,” he added.
He said as announced by Patel, vada nibhao would become the party slogan for its mission 2013 after April 30 rally. “We will continue our protest movements using the slogan – vada nibhao to frustrate the government,” said Chhabda.
He further informed that the party had also completed preparations pertaining to its May 1 dharna and court arrest programme in 80 Vidhan Sabha areas. On May 3, the party will again stage dharna and court arrest at Kharsiya, Chhabda said.
He said the party had increased attacks on the state government and would organise court arrest programme for the third time in past one year. “We have let not stone unturned in exposing corrupt face of the BJP government and have informed the public about its wrong polices by frequently organising district and Vidhan Sabha level workers’ meetings,” said Chhabda.
