Jogi: Implement NCTC to beef up internal security

Raipur, April 25, 2012

Demanding instant implementation of National Counter Terrorism Centre (NCTC) in Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh former chief minister and senior Congress legislator Ajit Jogi on Wednesday said that NCTC was the only tool through which the internal security of the four states would be strengthened.
“The law and order in these states have gone haywire. The cases like abduction, murder, etc have become order of the day. In these states neither government employees and public representatives nor common people are safe. Hence, NCTC is the only weapon through which the internal security will be consolidated in these regions,” he said.
Jogi alleged that Maoists, liquor mafia, land mafia etc ramified in all the four states because the non-Congress government created favourable condition for them. He said development reach remotest areas through public representatives but the government of Chhattisgarh, Orissa, Jharkhand and Madhya Pradesh never intend to uplift the needy and poor.
He also slammed non-Congress chief ministers for opposing NCTC during their recently held meeting which was convened by Prime Minister. He said the NCTC was being opposed by only those political parties which could not think about national security due to their limited regional activities. He urged the state government to put aside politics and support the Centre making the NCTC effective.
