RSU playing with future of MA Sanskrit students

Raipur, April 27, 2012

Youth Congress (YC) has alleged that Pt Ravishankar Shukla University was playing with the future of MA Sanskrit students by not clarifying in advance whether they should write answers in Sanskrit or Hindi during exams. “The students have actually prepared answers in Hindi as they learnt from the newspapers while the varsity says the mode of answers should be in Sanskrit,” said YC’s Raipur South Vidhan Sabha general secretary Sandeep Tiwari on Friday.
In this connection, the YC members staged dharna at the varsity campus and submitted a memorandum to the registrar on the name of vice chancellor.
In the memorandum, the YC members demanded from the RSU administration to allow students of MA Sanskrit (both previous and final year) to write their answers in Hindi as they have done hard work in preparations.
“Besides, there is no time for the students to prepare the answers in Sanskrit now as the exams have stared from April 24,” they said.
“The varsity says that its executive council had decided during its June 4, 2011 meeting that the students of MA Sanskrit would have to write answers in Sanskrit. But why did the students were not informed about this when they took admission during and while they filled exam forms? Hence, now it is the varsity’s responsibility to allow them to write answers in Hindi,” said Tiwari.
Tiwari warned of launching aggressive protest movement if the RSU would not meet YC’s demands. “About 11000 students are appearing in MA Sanskrit (previous and final year) exams. The RSU cannot play with their future,” he said.
On Friday’s dharna, Tiwari was accompanied by Akash Sharma, Karan Sharma, Anil Yadav, Kshitij Mishra, Azhar Rahman, Amit Sharma, Dhananjay Tomar, Malay Diwan, etc.
