Cong district-level workers’ meet at Jashpur today


Raipur, April 10, 2012

Congress will organise district-level workers’ meeting at Kunkuri (Jashpur) on Wednesday. The AICC general secretary and state unit incharge BK Hariprasada will specially attend the meeting along with PCC president Nandkumar Patel and CLP leader Ravindra Choubey. The trio will leave for Kunkuri via helicopter.
According to information, Hariprasada, Patel and Choubey will reach Raipur from New Delhi through regular flight at 9:25 am. At Mana airport, he will spend an hour with the PCC general secretaries who are also holding charge of Lob Sabha constituencies.
The party’s chief spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi informed that Raigarh Lok Sabha incharge general secretary Bhupesh Baghel was frequently holding meeting of the local partymen to bring massive crowd on Wednesday meeting. The other senior leaders in the area too are conducting tours in every block of Jashpur district to inform the party workers about the significance of the meeting, said Trivedi.
Trivedi said that the farmers of Jashpur were living in abject condition due to heavy debts. He reminded that one farmer Bal Bhagwan Yadav had committed suicide in Jashpur district a couple of months back. He said the farmers’ issues would be prominently raised during the workers’ meeting. Besides, the party will also raise the issue of Rs 270 paddy bonus and free power up to 5 HP for irrigation to the farmers, he added.
He said the senior leaders would further exhort the workers to make the party’s vada nibhao fortnight, slated to be organised from April 16-30, successful by informing people about corruption, irregularities and scams done by the government.
He informed that the meeting would be attended by deputy CLP leader Rampukar Singh, DCC Jashpur president Arti Singh, office-bearers of PCC, Jashpur DCC, Rajiv Gandhi panchayati raj cell as well as party legislators, Congress representatives of Sarguja division and Congress-supported Jashpur district panchayat president along with vice president and members.
