Patel for beefing up of women groups

Advocating appropriate reservation for women in politics, PCC president Nandkumar Patel has appealed to Pradesh Mahila Congress (PMC) members to work in direction of reducing foeticide cases and beefing up of women groups. Patel’s appeal came while he was addressing the PMC office-bearers during their first state executive meeting at Congress Bhawan on Friday.
He said current era’s women were capable enough to win elections with reservation. “They are competent and wise enough to work for welfare of country and society,” he said.
CLP leader Ravindra Choubey too felt that the active participation of women workers in Congress was must to take Central schemes to the end beneficiary.
PMC president Ambika Markam urged the members to consolidate the organisation at booth-level. She further emphasised on dharna and protest movements against rising women abuse and tribal harassment cases.
Appreciating Markam’s works as PMC head, MLA Dr Renu Jogi said that the organisation needed to work on registration of women groups to fortify the state Congress. On the occasion, national secretary of the organisation Ayesha Siddiqui was also present.
