Youth Congress (YC) members on Tuesday appealed
to Maoists to release abducted Sukma Collector Alex Paul Menon on human grounds
and took a foot march from Congress Bhawan to Jaistambh chowk wearing black
bands and holding placards.
They alleged that Menon’s abduction had exposed BJP
government’s administrative incapability. They asked the government to expedite
the process of Menon’s release and to provide adequate security to the officials
and employees posted in naxal-infested regions.
The foot march was taken by YC’s Raipur North
president Sunil Kukreja, Anwar Hussein, Soma Thakur, Prashant Sharma, Sumit
Sao, Imamuddin, Sagar Dulhani, Kamran Ansari, Keemat Deep, Kumar Chandra, Kushal
Giri Goswami, Ajay Raheja, Rakesh, Nilesh Soni, Pravesh Tiwari, Chandu Sahu,
Rafeeq Khan, Bharat Yadav, Vishal Soni, etc.
