‘Duplicate medicines infected eye patients, sack Health Min’

Raipur, April 05, 2012

Alleging that duplicate medicines were used in Balod eye camp as well as in recently held Durg eye camp, state Congress head Nandkumar Patel on Thursday demanded sacking of Health Minister Amar Agrawal holding him responsible for eyesight loss of several patients.
“The BJP government is insensitive, cruel and irresponsible. It should have promptly sacked the Health Minister,” said Patel.
He pointed that according to pamphlets circulated by some BJP leaders, the ruling party had distributed inordinate money during previous Assembly elections and all the by-polls.
“The Election Commission should take cognisance of this disclosure through the pamphlets,” he said and demanded CBI probe into the by-polls won by BJP.
He said the government’s gram suraj campaign did not bring anticipated results as only 784 out of total 516784 complaints in the form of applications were redressed. “The CM and his ministers made fake announcements in rural areas during gram suraj campaign but none of the declarations were implemented practically,” he charged.
He said the people were upset by government’s inclination towards mafias in coal and mining sectors besides ramification of liquor and gunny bag mafias.
“Considering anarchy prevailed in the state, the Congress will launch statewide vada nibhao fortnight from April 16-30,” he said.
Patel informed that party’s April 12 meting regarding vada nibhao fortnight would be prominently attended by AICC secretary and state unit incharge secretary Bhakt Charandas along with Congress vice presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, state spokespersons, presidents of all morchas and cells, DCC presidents and mayors of Raipur, Bilaspur, Bhilai and Rajnandgaon.
