The District Congress Committee (DCC) has demanded from the district administration to make the busy roads of the city one-way considering the increasing traffic pressure in the morning and evening hours. “Usually, the road traffic completely disrupts from 5 pm to 9 pm and the motorists stuck in frequent jams,” said the DCC president Inderchand Dhariwal. He said the traffic bottlenecks mostly occur in Sadar Bazar, Malviya Road, MG Road, Fafadih, Station chowk and Gudhiyari. “People park their vehicles haphazardly in these commercial places due to which even the pedestrians face problem in adopting these routes,” he added. Dhariwal said the only method to improve the traffic system was to make the busy roads one-way and to provide parking space in different parts of the city so that the people may not park their vehicles on road.

The officials have also been instructed to take samples of food materials and test them in the laboratories.
The officials must ensure that the stocks of medicines in municipal dispensaries and hospitals including Kalibadi Isolation Centre are filled in advance, Nayak said. The RMC will also organise health camps in the disease-prone areas, especially in slums and low lying regions. The municipal will also provide a mobile medical facility for emergency cases.
