Govt fixes fee structure for D Ed, B Ed, M Ed courses
Raipur, November 30, 2010
The state government has fixed the fee structure of Diploma in Education (D Ed), Bachelor in Education (B Ed) and Master in Education (M Ed) for the academic session 2010-11. The new fee structure has been fixed by the Fee Regulatory Committee (FRC) chaired by retired High Court Justice VK Shrivastava. The state government has constituted FRC under Chhattisgarh Private Professional Educational Institutes (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fee) Act 2008.
According to new structure, the interim annual fee (tuition fee and other charges) for D Ed would be Rs 14000, B Ed – Rs 24000 and M Ed – Rs 45000. Besides, the private institutions can take Rs 1000 development fee and Rs 1500 caution money every year.
The fee would be implemented in all the private colleges with immediate effect and there would be no change in the structure till the next revision of FRC. The new fee structure would be same for the students of Chhattisgarh and other states.
If any institution will charge fee more than the fixed structure or for any other purpose then it would be considered as capitation fee. The state government will take legal action under the Act against all such institutions that would take capitation fee.
The committee says that since the fee will be effective in academic session 2010-11, the institutions that have taken more than the fixed structure would have to return the additional amount to the students.
The institutions would be allowed to impose Rs 25 fine per day on the students would delay in paying their fee. Besides, the institutions would have to charge conveyance, hostel and mess fees on ‘no profit no loss’ basis.
The university and counselling fees would be charged according to the norm fixed by the government.
If any institution offers accredited course then it can charge Rs 1000 from each student for every semester. This additional amount would be taken for the accredited period of the course, i.e. the accreditation obtained for particular session by the institution for the course.
Dissolve BJP govt as crime thriving under its regime: Cong
Raipur, November 30, 2010
The BJP-led state government has completely failed to maintain law and order in the state owing to which the crime graph in this peaceful part of the country has gone past all time high. If the BJP government is unable to create sense of security among the citizens, it should step down on moral grounds. The Congress expressed these excoriating remarks during its massive dharna against the government’s impuissance to check the ticking crime rate in the state near Sports Complex Budhapara on Tuesday.
The PCC president Dhanendra Sahu, leader of the Opposition Ravindra Choubey and other leaders said that anarchy prevailed in the state due to government’s inactivity and the criminals had found Chhattisgarh as safe heaven.
Later, the Congress leaders submitted a memorandum to Governor through Collector in which they reiterated their demand to dissolve the BJP government.
“The incidents like murders, abductions, rapes, thefts and dacoities have shot up in the past couple of years because the BJP government is giving asylum to the criminals. Children have been victimised prominently and the glaring examples are incidents of abduction and murder of Ritwik (10) in Ambikapur, Roshan (10) in Ram Nagar Raipur, etc. This implies that the BJP government has absolutely failed preventing crime,” said Congress in the memorandum.
“This is the reason, the crime graph of Chhattisgarh has moved ahead of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh,” the party further said.
Only hard work can sustain BJP’s poll winning streak: Nadda
Raipur, November 30, 2010
Victory in elections is easy, but it is very difficult to maintain the rhythm. The BJP is a strong party in the state for a long time and only hard work can keep it united and consolidated. The words of caution were uttered by the state BJP incharge Jagat Prakash Nadda pertaining to the preparations of the upcoming elections for 13 civic bodies and by-elections for seven nagar panchayats during the party meeting at Ekatma Parisar on Tuesday. The elections and by-elections are slated on December 21.
Appealing the party workers to seriously prepare for the elections Nadda said, the working method and strategy should reflect in the polls.
The BJP state unit head Ramsewak Paikra exhorted the party workers to gar up for the elections as a united force. He said the swing is towards BJP that has recently marked historical victory in Bihar Assembly elections along with its ally JD(U). “The BJP will surely win Bhilai Municipal Corporation and other civic body seats with hug margins. The party workers simply require commitment,” he said.
Durg MP Saroj Pandey said the BJP should take advantage of fragmented Opposition in the state. “Our basic mantra for the polls is development and we should publicise it to post thumping victories from each seat,” she said.
The party’s organisational secretary Rampratap Singh suggested that effective strategy required for winning the elections.
The meeting was attended by BJP vice president Sachchidanand Upasne, Sanjay Shrivastava, general secretary Shiv Ratan Sharma, Prem Prakash Pandey, MLA Nand Kumar Sahu, Ashok Pandey, Deepak Mishra, and other party workers.
