RMC demolishes two illegal shops with 240 sq ft area


Removes 20 small encroachments from Fafadih chowk to Agrasen chowk

The RMC on Thursday demolished two illegally constructed shops with 240 sq ft area at the main road in Samta Colony. Besides the demolition squad also removed twenty encroachments including kiosks and hoarding from Fafadih chowk to Agrasen chowk via Station chowk and Telghani Naka chowk.
The civic Commissioner OM Prakash Choudhary informed that one ND Diwan had raised two shops with 120 sq ft area each by encroaching the drain and the road. In this regard, the municipal’s zonal office had shot three back-to-back notices to Diwan to voluntarily remove his encroachments to avoid any action against him, but he refuted to obey the directives.
Choudhary has reiterated that the municipal would continue its anti-encroachment drive and would not allow anyone to occupy public places illegally to gain commercial benefit. In this connection, he has instructed the zonal officials to prepare a list of the major encroachments done in their areas. He has also asked the officials to regularly monitor the areas from where illegal occupants had been ousted and to check re-encroachment.



RMC facelifts Naraiyya Talab

Reserves one acre land near pond for fruit orchid, to develop two gardens

Under the state government’s water conservation and preservation campaign, the RMC has given a facelift to Naraiyya Talab by deepening the pond, planting saplings in its ambience and reserving a fruit orchid in the locality in about one acre land. The municipal corporation will also develop two gardens in the area.
The beautification and development works at Naraiyya Talab would be done at the cost of Rs 1.40 crore. The fund has been approved by the Urban Administration and Development Department. 
The RMC Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary informed that the municipal corporation had planted about 425 saplings of different fruits in the fruit orchid. Similarly, saplings of more than 50 species have been planted in one of the proposed gardens, he added.
Choudhary further informed that chain link mesh fencing of the pond would be done at the cost of Rs 8.70 lakh, plantation and development works in the two gardens and near CSPHCL’s sub-station area would be done at the cost of Rs 9.90 lakh and plantation around the pond would be carried out at the cost of Rs 9.80 lakh.
Similarly, Rs 3.45 lakh will be spent in construction of watchmen quarter in one of the gardens, Rs 17.90 lakh will be spent on construction of pucca nullah besides sweeper colony, Rs 14.60 lakh will be spent on leveling the embankment of the pond and Rs 2.72 lakh will be spent on pipeline laying works.
The RMC will also construct a pucca nullah besides Police Line to check flow of drain water into the pond at the cost of Rs 49.20 lakh and boulder pitching work would be done at the cost of Rs 33.80 lakh.



Telebandha Rly station to be dedicated to public tomorrow

The Urban Administration and Development Minister Rajesh Munat will dedicate the new Railway station at Telebandha to the public on September 11, 2010 in presence of Raipur Rural legislator Nand Kumar Sahu, acting Mayor Manoj Kandoi and municipal Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava. The Union Railway Ministry had approved the proposal of the state government to build new Railway station at Telebandha back in January 8, 2009 for organised road traffic in the capital city and for convenience of passengers commuting from Raipur to Dhamtari. Munat had allotted Rs 1.46 crore for the project as state government’s contribution. The fund was given the Railways by the municipal corporation.


Probe ordered into enigmatic demise

The state government on Thursday issued probe order into an enigmatic demise of one Dhamtari resident Satish Sahu. The instructions were given by the Urban Administration and Development Minister Rajesh Munat to Dhamtari SP after the spouse of the deceased Satish Sahu who mysteriously died on August 31, 2010 demanded high-level inquiry into the matter. Munat was interacting with the people arrived from different parts of the state along with their applications, demands and grievances in Chief Minister Raman Sigh’s weekly Jandarshan programme in his absence at his residence. Munat was accompanied by parliamentary secretaries Dr Siyaram Sahu and Komal Janghel along with Chairman of State Civil Supplies Corporation Leelaram Bhojwani. On the occasion, the team of doctors conducted check health -up of about 18 persons and recommended them to Ambedkar hospital for free of cost treatment. The minister further issued directives to the relevant departments pertaining to the people’s sundry demands including opening of new paddy procurement centre, announcement of development works like road concretisation and construction of Aanganbadi Bhawans, etc. 


Mandi polls prep to begin from Oct 1

The preparation of mandi polls in the state will commence from October 1, 2010 for which the Agriculture Ministry has issued a date-wise schedule for fixation of poll constituencies and preparation of voter lists from Mantralaya on Thursday. These polls would be conducted to elect presidents and members of mandi committees.
According to the schedule, the Collectors or District Returning Officers (DROs) will first divide the mandi areas into poll constituencies and mark general and reserved areas. The list of poll constituencies will then be published in the local dailies besides being mentioned on the information boards of relevant mandi and janpad panchayat offices.
The claims and objection regarding published list would be accepted till October 18. The final list of the poll constituencies would be prepared by October 22 after examination and verification of the claims and objections.
By October 25, the list of SC and ST representatives would be prepared in descending order after calculating the total strength of both the categories separately in each constituency. The DROs will then publish notices regarding reservation of constituencies on the following day and the procedures would be completed by November 2.
Similarly, the data of SC and ST populations in all the constituencies would be sent to MARKFED for reservation of mandi committee presidents and notices in this regard would be published by October 14. The final list will be prepared by November 3.
To prepare voter list, the Collectors will appoint registration and assistant registration officers on October 1. The format of voter list would be completed by November 8 and the format of electoral roster would be published by November 12. The claims and objections on the published roster would be accepted till November 24.
The relevant officials would have to resolve all the claims by December 1 besides including the supplementary voter list to the main list. The amended voter list would then be sent to the DROs.
The preparation of final election roster will be completed by December 24. The state government will then issue notification for nomination filing date along with voting and counting dates by December end.
