Raipur, September 01, 2010

A delegation of Bharatiya Boudh Mahasabha’s (BBM) Chhattisgarh unit paid courtesy visit to Chief Minister Raman Singh at his residence on Wednesday. On the occasion, the delegation informed the CM about the delay in issuance of schedule caste (SC) certificates to the people of mahar community dwelling in different parts of the state and requested him to redress the problem at the earliest. The state BJP is planning to accord grand welcome to its national president Nitin Gadkari on his maiden visit to state capital on September 03, 2010. Besides preparations in the city, the party is setting up a huge stage outside the Mana airport to give warm welcome to Gadkari. The state unit president Ramsewak Paikra has asked all the ministers and legislators to be present mandatorily on the occasion to receive their national chief.
Gadkari will reach Raipur by a special plane at about 3 pm on September 3. Only five leaders including Chief Minister Raman Singh, state head Ramsewak Paikra, state Organisational general secretary Rampratap Singh, national co-Organisational secretary Saudan Singh and Raipur Parliamentarian Ramesh Bais would enter the airport to greet Gadkari at first.
Later, ministers, MLAs and senior party leaders would welcome him at a small programme at the stage outside the airport. The welcome programme would conclude with Gadkari’s brief speech.
Although, the city would be decked with saffron hue during Gadkari’s arrival, but the state unit has decided to do it in a unique and disciplined manner and hence the party leaders and workers have been cautioned not to flood the public places with their giant banners and posters welcoming the national president.
Instead, the party would prepare a list of leaders whose names would appear in the banners and posters in the city and the main programme venue at Netaji Subhash stadium where Gadkari will address a massive rally.
The party has categorically said that the national head’s publicity through advertisements including media and billboards would be done at state and district units.
The party hopes that about 25,000 party workers would gather at Netaji Subhash stadium. The entire arrangements of the main programme would be done by Raipur East MLA and PWD Minister Brijmohan Agrawal and Raipur West legislator and Urban Administration and Development Minister Rajesh Munat.
The party on Wednesday has also finalised the routes to welcome Gadkari in the capital where he would be greeted by the various communities and societies. The Chhattisgarh’s traditions including tribal dance of Bastar, raut nacha, panthi nritya and Utkal nritya besides several cultural programs and special dhols from Rajnandgaon would be the highlights during movement of Gadkari’s cavalcade in the city.
The party has given targets to the leaders to gather workers in large number on September 3. In this regard, The Raipur West legislator Rajesh Munat called upon a meeting of party workers of his constituency at 9.30 am on Wednesday and asked them workers to at least gather 5000 people to greet Gadkari. The Raipur West workers would also take out a massive rally in the city in 501 motorcycles.
Later Munat took meeting of Birgaon Mandal, Mana Nagar Panchayat, Mana Mandal, Raipur Rural Mandal separately and issued necessary guidelines to the workers. He then inspected Subhash stadium and airport along with the senior party leaders to see preparations.
The state unit head, too, accompanied Munat and other leaders inspected the proposed site of party’s new office at Boriyakala where the foundation stone would be laid by Gadkari.
To give final shape to the preparations, a meeting of BJP corporators from Raipur Municipal Corporation would be held at the party office at 5 pm on Thursday.
