Exec panels of BJP’s two morchas, one cell announced

The executive committees of BJP’s ST and minority morchas as well as medical cell were announced on Thursday. The executive committees of all the three organisations comprised of vice presidents, general secretaries, secretaries, treasures, executive members, permanent members, specially invited members and district presidents.
The party’s ST morcha state president Satyanand Rathiya informed that there will be five vice presidents, two general secretaries, five secretaries and one treasures besides others members in the executive committee.
The new vice presidents of the morcha will be - Ramkishun Singh, Rajendra Netam, Dular Sai, Shivmohan Singh Uike and Lingoram Poyam. The general secretaries will be – Vikas Markam and Vijay Mandavi while the treasurer will be Preetam Singh Diwan. The new secretaries will be – Jhageshwar Dhruv, Girdhar Thakur, Ishwar Singh Sidar, Devnandan Paikra and Balram Dhruve.
The party’s minority morcha state president Mirza Ajaz Baig informed that the new vice presidents of the morcha will be - Saifuddin (Bablu), Hafeez Khan, Saleem Memon, Ghulam Kadar Quraishi and Sanaulla Khan while general secretary will be Akram Quraishi.
The secretaries of the minority morcha will be – Najma Ajim, Amjad Ali Khan, Shabnam Taj, Raju Khan, Rajju Memon and Firoz Gandhi while Maulana Zaheeruddin Rizvi will be publicity secretary, Mirza Sajid Pathan will be office secretary and Dr Mehruddin Mirza will be the treasurer.
The state convenor of BJP medical cell Dr Akhilesh Dubey informed that Dr Shailesh Khandelwal (Raipur) and Dr Raghvendra Singh (Bilaspur) will be the new co-convenors of the cell. Besides, there will be 24 executive members from different districts.
The cell will also have new district convenors and co-convenors who are – Dr Ravi Rathi – Raipur City, Dr Gulab Tikaria (convenor) and Dr KR Verma  (co-convenor) – Raipur Rural, Dr Nandu Agrawal – Mahasamund, Dr KS Kanjwani – Rajnandgoan, Dr Roopnath Manikpuri – Kawardha, Dr Vikas Das – Narayanpur, Dr Vijay Bhojwani – Jagdalpur, Dr Sunil Jaiswal – Bilaspur, Dr Ajay Thawani – Janjgir-Champa, Dr Sameer Ram – Jashpur, Dr Vijay Yadav – Ambikapur and Dr US Prasad – Koria.


Meeting of BJP Raipur Rural held

The meeting of BJP Raipur Rural held at party’s state office Ekatma Parisar on Thursday. The meeting was convened by party’s cooperative cell Ashok Bajaj who informed that 27 mandals has achieved fifty percent of the target to collect fund for BJP’s state office. He asked the party workers to accomplish cent percent task by November 30, 2010. Mentioning BJP-JD(U) combine victory in Bihar, Bajaj said the political equations would change in future for which the party workers should gear up. The meeting was attended by Kisan Morcha president Sandeep Sharma, president of District cooperative Bank Yogesh Chandrakar, Damrudhar Pujari, Raipur Rural president Ajay Rao, BJP working committee member Mohammad Bhati and others.



Vendor policy likely to be implemented in December

Zone commissioners asked constitute ward vending committees in 3 days

The municipal corporation is likely to implement its vendor policy from the second fortnight of December 2010. The civic commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary has asked deputy commissioner and vendor policy superintendent Rakesh Jaiswal to ensure that the policy should get implemented by given deadline. Notably, the RMC aims to rehabilitate the street vendors in an organised manner to prevent encroachments in public places and to rid the city from traffic woes.
In this connection, Jaiswal has instructed all the zone commissioners to submit a detailed work-plan within three days. He further directed them to constitute new ward vending committees and reserve at least one market place or any other space in every zone within 20 days so that vendor zones could be developed. Besides, he said the work-plan should also contain names of the places where vending would be prohibited. 
Notably, the street vendors will be rehabilitated to specific places under vendor policy so that they could respectfully operate their business. The rehab works will commence from zone 8 and all the street vendors of the capital would be rehabilitated gradually in phased manner.
According to vendor policy, there will be three different sized kiosks that would be allotted to the vendors. The municipal administration will also issue identity cards to the vendors.
The street vendors who would be rehabilitated under the overbridges would be allowed to operate their business on time-slot basis. The rehabilitation will be done under joint supervision of ward vending committees headed by the local corporators and zonal officials.
The municipal commissioner has categorically said that after rehabilitation of the vendors, no illegal construction or encroachment in the public places for commercial purpose by the vendors would be tolerated and stern action would be taken against the guilty ones.
To make optimum use of the dharna spot near Sports Complex
Budhapara, the RMC will develop the place for choupati under vendor policy.
The commercialisation of dharna spot would be scheduled for evening hours when the place remains vacant.


Uncontrolled bull caught

The municipal corporation on Thursday caught an uncontrolled bull that had injured more than fifteen people of Shyam Nagar and Katora Talab. The residents complained to the municipal office that the uncontrolled bull was posing threat to their lives after being bitten by stray dog. The special field staff of the Revenue department promptly came into action and trapped the bull after the civic commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary issued directives to them on Thursday morning.


40 encroachments removed

The RMC on Thursday removed 40 encroachments from Station road. The action was taken against vendors who were operating their businesses either in thelas or kiosks by illegally occupying the road. The civic commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary has instructed the officials to ensure that the encroachers may not reoccupy the road space after sometime.


Bhoomipujan of new culvert

Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak has conducted bhoomipujan of new culvert to be constructed near Irrigation colony in Lal Bahadur Shastri ward (zone 3) on Thursday. The culvert will be constructed at the cost of Rs 7.50 lakh. Nayak asked the officials to ensure construction quality of the culvert be maintained according to the set norms.


RMC to put Gambusia fishes in ponds today

Under its anti-larva campaign – malaria control fortnight that commenced on November 24, 2010, the RMC will put Gambusia fishes in ponds on Thursday. Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak and al the MiC members will also put Gambusia fishes in Amatalab, Bandhwa Talab, Khokho Talab and Pahadi Talab.


No water supply in Gudhiyari, Ganj today & tomorrow
Raipur: The RMC’s water supply in Gudhiyari and Ganj will remain disrupted on Friday and Saturday owing to repairing works on main pipeline from filter plant to Gudhiyari. The municipal commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary informed that due to repairing works the water tanks in Ganj and Gudhiyari would not be filled on Friday evening and Saturday morning. The water supply will begin from Saturday evening, he said.

Solar lights in Gandhi Udyan from Nov 28
Raipur: Under its energy conservation campaign, the RMC has established a solar power plant with 10 kilowatt capacity in Gandhi Udyan. Now the garden will light up with the unconventional energy source. The plant has been established at the cost of Rs 25 lakh of which the municipal has incurred Rs 7.5 lakh while the remaining amount has been provided by the government. The Urban Administration and Development Minister Rajesh Munat will dedicate the new solar system of lightening in the garden to the public on November 28, 2010. On the occasion, Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak, municipal Speaker Sanjay Shrivastava, MiC members, Civil Lines corporator Ashok Manwani and others would remain present.



About 1000 Shikshakarmis detained

While they were on way to gherao School Education Minister

They warn to gherao VS during winter session if their demands are not met

About one thousand Shikshakarmis were detained on Thursday while they were on way to gherao School Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal in favour of their six-point demands. The police kept the detained Shikshakarmis at Madhav Rao Sapre School ground under preventive sections till evening.
The Shikshakarmis warned that if their demands would not be fulfilled them they would gherao all the ministers at their legislative Assembly areas and then the Vidhan Sabha in the winter session.
The state president of Sanyukta Shikshakarmi Sangh (SSS) Kedar Jain informed that the BJP had deceived the Shikshakarmis and in spite of coming into power for two consecutive terms, it had not taken any initiative for them.
“We wanted to gherao the School Education Minister Brijmohan Agrawal because when his party was in opposition in 2003, he had promised us that he would resolve all of our problems within one hour. Unfortunately, even after seven years, he has kept his ears deaf towards our voices,” he said. 
“The government is adopting double standard as it has regularised 25000 daily wagers at grade IV level but have ignored the demands of 150000 Shikshakarmis who should get elevated to assistant teachers, upper grade teachers and lecturers,” he said.
The Shikshakarmis leaders who were detained are SSS president Kedar Jain, Anil Shrivastava, SSS general secretary Girish Keshkar and district president Uttam Dewangan.
