Raipur, October 11, 2010

The municipal officials have been instructed to complete the beautification works of the GE road-based Anupam garden (Mahaveer Park) in the given timeframe. The RMC Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary issued a directive in this regard while he was inspecting the progress of beautification works of the garden along with zone 8 Commissioner Rakesh Jaiswal and other officials on Monday.
Choudhary said the sanitation contractors should be sternly asked to life garbage near the garden and from the drain besides it on regular basis to ensure hygienic atmosphere in the locality.
He further said that as a security measure the height of the garden’s boundary wall should also be raised. Notably, Mayor Kiranmayi Nayak had inspected the garden recently and had expressed her annoyance over delay in commencement of its beautification in spite of approval of fund. She too was irked with the garbage thrown besides the garden including food waste recklessly dumped at its corner facing Dagania road by a restaurant Little Hut. The RMC is also planning to shift the Little Hut elsewhere still the decision in this connection has not been taken.
The RMC’s general body meeting in March 30, 2010 had passed the proposed beautification works of Anupam garden. The estimated cost of the project is about Rs 99.90 lakh. The RMC aims to develop Anupam garden like Gandhi Udyan so that the people could enjoy there along with their families.
