High rank, low rank
One of the new zone commissioners of the RMC is upset nowadays. Reason – earlier he held a deputy commissioner rank in Ambikapur, but now he is holding a lower rank of zone commissioner at RMC. This official has been recently transferred from Ambikapur to Raipur during major reshuffle of municipal corporations. Interestingly, this zone commissioner has close links with civic Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary who too was in Ambikapur as a CEO Zila Panchayat. In spite of Choudhary’s assurance to this zone commissioner that he would soon be elevated to deputy commissioner rank, the latter wants to get rid of zone responsibility at the earliest. He says working on policy matters is different than daily interaction with the people who come to zone office with petty complaints. The other deputy commissioners are sympathetic with this official, but never miss an opportunity to crack a joke on him. This official says that the people who are ridiculing him should not be overconfident as they too could be transferred to other places and get lower job profile.
Time to take a dip in Ganges
A senior bureaucrat in Mantralaya wants to change his image at the fag end of his career. Hence, he has decided not to sign any file that could spark controversy. But his juniors are shocked by his decision. They could not believe that this is the same babu who was magnanimously signing all the files just a few months back. Now, these juniors are worried because a number of pending files belong to those with whom they have done secret dealings. In fact, they wish that the bureaucrat take a dip in Ganges for self purification after Diwali so that all of them could celebrate the festival like previous years.
We are not rich
Two BJP leaders, whose business establishments were raided twice in the past couple of months, are now clarifying to the public that all the media reports about their disproportionate income and property are mere hype. But unfortunately, no one believes them. Some are even saying that instead of giving clarification, the duo should have gagged those fellow partymen with small chunk of their excess income who had complained against them to the Central Excise and IT departments.
This Dussehra, kill the real Ravana…
We will celebrate Vijaydashmi on Sunday and symbolically kill Ravana who represents evil. But in the backdrop of rising prices of essential commodities, increasing criminal activities, cut throat competition, prevalence of abundant opportunists and scarce egalitarians and disappearance of trust, thousands of Ravanas with millions of heads are ruling the world again. Now, if we really want to get rid of these Ravanas then we would have to replace them with those who are proponent of peace and amicability and solely aim to develop the country and not to exploit it. If we will succeed in keeping the evil people away from the power, the real Ravana inside them would die one day and then perhaps, our Dussehra celebrations would be worthy. Why not to begin this work from this Vijaydashmi…
