The state BJP Mahila Morcha’s (BJPMM) day-long executive meeting would be convened on January 23 2011 in which morcha’s national president Smriti Irani has been invited as a special guest. The morcha’s state president Shobha Soni informed that it would be the first meeting of the organisation after the constitution of its executive committee. The meeting would be attended by morcha’s state office-bearers, members of executive committee, specially invited members and all the district presidents.
BJYM gears up for Rashtriya Ekta Yatra

A meeting of Bharatiya Janata Yuwa Morcha’s (BJYM) Raipur Rural held on Saturday in which the workers discussed about the preparations of organisation’s Rashtriya Ekta Yatra plans from Kolkata to Srinagar.
In the meeting, the workers reiterated that the BJYM would surely hoist tricolour at Lal Chowk in Srinagar on Republic Day on January 26, 2011 in spite of resistance by the Jammu and Kashmir government as well as by UPA allies including Congress.
The meeting was attended by state BJYM vice president Neelu Sharma, general secretary Ashish Agrawal, BJYM Raipur Rural president Abhinesh Kashyap and others.
On the occasion, the district convenor of Tiranga Vahini Deepak Bais announced mandal convenors for preparation of Rashtriya Ekta Yatra. The mandal convenors are – Thansingh Navrange – Abhanpur, Varun Rathi – co-convenor – Abhanpur, Sanjay Sahu – Nayapara, Manoj Dubey – Chhura, Devendra Thakur – Devbhog, Tiresh Kumar – Gohrapadar, Keshav Bagh – Gariyaband, Santosh Verma - Palari, Sanjay Shrivas – Balodabazar Urban, Rakesh Didekar – Balodabazar Rural, Ramkumar Sahu – Lavan, Ramkumar Kesarvani – Sarsiva, Namit Yadav – Mandir Hasaud, Diksan Sahu – Arang, Nakul Verma – Dharsiva, Anand Yadav – Simga, Anupam Agrawal – Suhela and Arvind Verma – Tilda Urban.
Government procures over 27.14 lakh MT paddy

The government had procured 2714521 MT paddy from 1587 procurement centres under 1333 primary cooperative societies of the state by far under minimum support price (MSP) in the current Kharif season 2010-11. The government has procured about 1580549 MT common paddy and 1133972 MT grade-A paddy of the total procured paddy.
The common paddy is being been procured at the rate of Rs 1000 per quintal and grade-A paddy at the rate of Rs 1030 per quintal.
The procurement began from November 1, 2010 and it would continue till January 31, 2011. However, paddy purchase would be continued through linking from only those farmers with balance loan to adjust their loan amount by February 15, 2011.
The officials of Food and Civic Supplies Department informed that the highest amount of paddy has been procured from Raipur district, i.e. 629516 MT through 276 cooperative committees followed by Durg that has purchased 448314 MT paddy.
Similarly, the amounts of paddy purchased in other districts are – Mahasamund – 347837 MT, Dhamtari – 272361 MT, Rajnandgaon – 193784 MT, Raigarh – 196296 MT, Bilaspur –153414 MT, Kabeerdham – 19313 MT, Kanker – 76390 MT, Korba – 25533 MT, Sarguja – 34138 MT, Janjgir-Champa – 228318 MT, Jagdalpur – 37660 MT, Koria (Baikunthpur) – 7085 MT, Jashpur – 8654 MT, Dantewada – 2984 MT, Narayanpur – 1186 MT and Bijapur – 1738 MT.
RMC demolishes power company office at Budhapara

The municipal corporation demolished Chhattisgarh State Power Holding Company’s (CSPHCL) Budhapara-based office near Madhav Rao Sapre School under its road widening project on Saturday. The RMC will also shift a temple located on the road intersection elsewhere to ensure smooth flow of road traffic in the area.
The municipal officials informed that the power company office was demolished after obtaining permission from the company’s authorities. The office would now be shifted behind its existing location. The officials informed that the traffic pressure on Budhapara road towards new RMC office, Kalibadi chowk and Malviya road had increased in the past couple of years.
They informed that the encroachments in the locality would also be removed in next coming days. “We are expecting that the vehicle movement on Budhapara road would increase after the municipal works would commence from new civic headquarters. In this scenario, we have to widen the road properly to prevent bottlenecks, especially around the road intersection near Sapre School,” the officials said.
The RMC will widen the road from Sapre School to Karmachari Bhawan. The road will be 50 feet wide for which the boundary wall of the Sapre School and Karmachari Bhawan edifice would be shifted several feet away from the main road, informed the officials.
RMC to launch revenue collection mission

To per up its revenue collection drive in the last quarter of the current fiscal, the municipal corporation will launch a mission under which the zonal Revenue staff would continuously visit their respective areas to ensure cent percent collection. In this regard, the civic Commissioner Om Prakash Choudhary on Saturday issued necessary directives to the Revenue officials pertaining to collection. He said the field staff should concentrate on both property tax as well as licence fee collection.
He asked the officials to organise special revenue collection camps in all the seventy wards on every Sunday from 9 am to 5 pm till March 31, 2011. He categorically said that all the Revenue staffers from officials to employees should remain present in the special camps and the absentees would be immediately suspended. Choudhary said he too would conduct surprise inspection of special camps.
He further directed the zone commissioners to issue demand notices to all the taxpayers in next 15 days and to publicly announce about the special camps on regular basis till March 31. Besides, the RMC will also urge people to pay their property tax through different modes of advertisement. He rebuked the zone commissioner for not issuing demand notices to the 100 new buildings in this fiscal in spite of tax being imposed on them in the previous financial year.
Choudhary said besides collecting property tax in residential and commercial areas in the city, the Revenue staff should also identify all the vacant plots in the outskirts on which tax had not been imposed.
The RMC will impose property tax on the empty plots located in the residential or commercial areas from the date of their registration. But there would be tax relaxation for those owing agricultural land as the RMC will impose property tax on such lands after the three years of date of registration.
Similarly, those having residential plots less than 5000 sq ft and commercial plots less than 1000 sq ft would have to pay property tax of the past three years. On the other hand, the RMC will impose cent percent tax on the residential plots over 5000 sq ft area and commercial plots over 1000 sq ft area.
Choudhary said those who would not submit their licence fee till March 31 would have to pay fivefold penalty after the last date. He informed that the RMC would also disburse incentives to the Revenue staff. In this regard, the civic administration has sent a proposal to the Urban Administration Secretary RP Mandal for approval. The municipal will disburse two percent incentive from the revenue collected from the new valuation cases out of which moharrir will receive one percent, Assistant Revenue Inspector - ½ percent and Revenue Officer and Assistant Revenue Officer will get ¼ percent each.
For collecting highest amount of licence fee, Choudhary also felicitated Revenue SI Chandrabhushan Singh Parmar on Saturday. In three days, Parmar issued 41 notices and recovered Rs 53690, Rs 63024 and 65473 in first, second and third day respectively.

Cooperative sector has imparted unique identity to Chhattisgarh. The sector was prominently promoted in the region by Vaman Rao Lakhe, Thakur Pyarelal Singh and Madhav Rao Sapre before independence. The words expressed by Agriculture Minister Chandrashekhar Sahu during the inaugural session of Sahkar Bharti Chhattisgarh’s two-day state-level convention that commenced at Bhanpuri-based Patidar Bhawan on Saturday.
“The role of cooperative sector is significant in upgradation of socio-economic upgradation. Where the economic liberalisation has created huge gap among the high and low income earners, the cooperative sector has rather worked as a bridge between the upper, middle and lower sections of the society,” Sahu said.
“In Chhattisgarh, the Raman Singh led BJP government is providing farm loan to the farmers at only three percent interest rate annually. The state government has also included fishermen and people engaged in dairy business among the list of eligible candidates for the agriculture loans,” he added.
The chairman of Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation Ashok Bajaj said that only cooperative sector would help in developing Pt Deendayal Upadhyay and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s dream India. He said any government or administration can reach to each and every person of the society only through cooperative sector. Bajaj urged from all sections of the society to come forward and promote cooperative sector in the state.
The national president of Sahkar Bharti Satish Marathe informed in detail about the cooperative sector, its objectives and expanding domain. On the occasion, president of Sahkar Bharti Chhattisgarh Shiv Narayan Kesharvani and others members of organisation were present.
