BJP is anti-tribal, against development: Congress


Raipur, February 15, 2012

The PCC president Nandkumar Patel has said that the ruling BJP was anti-tribal and against development. “The sole objective of Congress is to rid people of Chhattisgarh from bad governance of BJP,” said Patel while addressing workers’ meeting at Sukma district on Wednesday.
This was the party second consecutive meeting in one of the newly formed districts after Bemetara on February 14. Patel said the massive gathering in the meeting was an apparent indicator of BJP government’s countdown.
The AICC general secretary and incharge of state Congress BK Hariprasada said that the Chhattisgarh’s BJP government tops the list of most corrupt state sin the country.
“The people are not getting benefit of the Central schemes due to misuse of funds. In fact, the entire BJP government is engaged in corruption in Central schemes,” he alleged.
The CLP leader Ravindra Choubey said the BJP government had always exploited the Bastarians and never posed seriousness in carrying out developmental works in the region.
“In its eight years of regime, the BJP government neither opened any engineering college or ITI nor fully-facilitated hospital,” he pointed.
Choubey appealed to the workers to throw the BJP government in next Vidhan Sabha polls and bring back peace in Bastar.
Senor party leader Vidyacharan Shukla, chairman of Congress monitoring committee and former leader of opposition at VS Mahendra Karma too termed the ruling BJP as the most corrupt government and urged workers to unitedly fight to make Congress victorious in upcoming polls.
Konta MLA and PCC vice president Kawasi Lakma said the BJP could form government on the basis of mandate it got in last VS polls. “Unfortunately, this government is non-existent in Bastar. This region lacks electricity, water, health facilities, etc but the government is indifferent towards the requisite of the tribals,” he said.
The meeting was also attended by the party Bastar Lok Sabha incharge Uday Mudliyar, Fulodevi Netam, PCC’s chief spokesperson Shailesh Nitin Trivedi,  Karan dev, Gulab Khatri, Vimal Chand Surana, Lakheshwar Baghel, Shankar Sodhi, Rajnu Netam, Manohar Lunia, etc.
