Alleging that a lecturer of Government Engineering
College (GEC) Sejbahar NP Dewangan harasses the students and adopts partiality
while giving marks in practical exams, the NSUI members on Tuesday gheraoed the
institute and demanded quick action against Dewangan. They also mounted
pressure on the college administration to quickly provide radical facilities
like workshop, laboratories, etc to the students.
Taking serious note on the allegations of the NSUI
members, the GEC principal MR Khan assured them of constituting a five-member
team to inquire into the charges levelled against Dewangan. Similarly, on
provision of other facilities, Khan said he would write a letter to the
government.
The NSUI state president Devendra Yadav informed Khan
that he received several complaints from the students regarding Dewangan’s misbehaviour
with them. “We were surprised to learn from the students that Dewangan sometime
even beat them. He also uses abusive and obscene language against them frequently,”
said Yadav.
The NSUI members said that the GEC students had
protested several times in the past against Dewangan’s misconduct but no action
was being taken against him. They said they will lodge FIR against Dewangan.
The NSUI members present on the occasion were national
delegate Nikhil Dwivedi, district vice presidents – Akash Sharma, Bhavesh
Shukla, along with Sumit Sao, Ashish Dwivedi, Karan Sharma, Sumit Sharma,
Mayank Thakur, Amit Andani, etc.
