Vora submits memo with 22-point demand to Railway Min

The AICC treasurer and Rajya Sabha member Motilal Vora and a delegation of Congress leaders on Wednesday submitted memorandum with 22-point demand to Union Railway Minister Dinesh Trivedi regarding expansion of rail services in the state.
Vora demanded laying of ten new rail lines which are – from Raipur to Jharsuguda via Balodabazar, Giraudpuri, Bhatgaon and Sarangarh, from Dongargarh to Bilaspur via Khairagarh, Kawardha and Mungeli, from Korba to Pendra via Patthalgaon, Jashpur and Kathghora, from Bilaspur to Jabalpur via Sakri, Takhatpur, Mungeli, Pandaria, Kawardha and Mandla (survey of the project conducted several times in past), from Ambikapur to Barwadih (Jharkhand) (survey of the project complete, approval pending), from Ambikapur to Jharsuguda, from Korba to Ambikapur via Raigarh, from Bilaspur to Raipur, from Bilaspur to Kathghora and from Bagbahra to Bargarh via Pithora, Sankra, Basna and Saraipali.
Besides, he sought rapid commencement of laying of broad gauge from Raipur to Kanker via Dhamtari, laying of third rail line from Champa to Rajnandgaon via Bilapsur and Durg, quick completion of Dalli Rajhara-Rawghat rail line project and its extension by 125 km to Jagdalpur.
He demanded three new trains for the state which are - new train from Durg to Gowahati, new intercity express from Jagdalpur to Raipur via Koraput and Raigada, direct train from Bilaspur to Hardwar and new train from Durg to Katni via Raipur, Bilaspur and Pendraroad.
He further sought extension of Gondwana express to Amritsar and extension of Howrah-Koraput Samleshwari express to Jagdalpur.
He also demanded from the minister to increase frequency of Durg-Gorakhpur express to seven days a week and frequency of Raipur-Dalli Rajhahra passenger train from three days to seven days a week.
He said Raipur-Rajim-Dhamtari narrow gauge should be converted to broad gauge and linked to Dalli Rajhara-Rawghat rail line project.  In addition, he demanded construction of railway overbridge at Tilda. 
On the occasion, the Congress leaders who accompanied Vora were Subhash Sharma, Arun Vora, Ramesh Warlyani, Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, Mahendra Chhabda, Sushil Anand Shukla, Jaswant Claudius, Siju Anthony, Bhajan Singh Nirankari, Sanjay Pathak and others.
