Congress will felicitate 11 farmers on the occasion of
86th birth anniversary of former Chief Minister Pt Shyamacharan
Shukla at 11 am in Congress Bhawan on February 27. The DCC Raipur Urban
president Inderchand Dhariwal informed that the farmers had been selected on
the basis of their outstanding contribution in agricultural sector.
Notably, the Congress observes Shukla’s birth
anniversary as ‘Kisan Diwas’ every year and felicitates best farmers on the
occasion. Dhariwal informed that the party takes initiative for farmers to
encourage them.
Prior to the felicitation programme, the party leaders
will pay tribute to Shukla by garlanding his statue at Gaurav Path at 10:30 am.
Dhariwal informed that all the senior leaders and DCC
office-bearers along with workers would attend the farmers’ felicitation
programme.
