Now, hostel not mandatory for students in RKC

School admin buckles down before NSUI demo

Raipur, February 17, 2012
Finally, Rajkumar College (RKC) has revoked its decision that students would have to mandatorily live in hostel after class 9th. The school administration was compelled to take back its decision after the NSUI members mounted pressure on it by demonstrating before the campus on Friday.
“The decision was merely aimed to financially exploit the parents whose children are studying in the RKC. Why will any student from Raipur live in RKC hostel and pay additional fee? Our dharna was genuine and hence the school administration buckled down,” said former NSUI president Sanjeev Shukla.
However, the RKC administration has revoked its decision for the current academic session only. The NSUI’s Raipur district president Pradeep Sahu has warned the RKC of launching aggressive protest movement if it would again impose the same decision on the students on next academic session.
The NSUI members present at dharna were Abhinav Raute, Asmita Chelak, Nidhi Namdev, Ravi Sen, Nadeep Salat, Shahbaz Hussein, Amitabh, Tarun Soni, Aniket Kumar, Mahesh Yadav, Sunny, Yogendra Giri, etc.
