DCC Raipur Urban president Inderchand Dhariwal on
Saturday informed that the office-bearers of DCC, Youth Congress and party
corporators of Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) will inaugurate the newly
constructed Santoshi Nagar flyover at 11 am on Sunday.
Although it would be an unofficial inauguration of the
flyover, Dhariwal said the partymen would not wait anymore and would show green
signal for convenience of the motorists who had faced inconvenience in past
three years.
“The traffic pressure would ease with the commencement
of the flyover and the entire area from Santoshi Nagar to Pachpedi Naka chowk
which had become accident prone zone would now become safer for the motorists,”
said Dhariwal.
Notably, the Congress leaders had continuously
agitated for rapid completion of the flyover by gheraoing the National Highway
Authority of India (NHAI) office as well as the office of DS Construction – the
agency hired by the NHAI to accomplish the task of folurlane project along with
three flyovers at Ring Road No 1.
