Leprosy operations: CG secures second position in India

Chhattisgarh has secured second position in country in terms of highest number of leprosy operations in one year. According to figures provided by Leprosy department of Union Health Ministry, state’s 190 leprosy patients underwent operations in government hospitals in 2010-11. Besides, 83 operations were being done through social welfare organisations. In leprosy operations, Orissa tops the list with 230 operations while Gujarat, West Bengal and Karnataka secures third, fourth and fifth positions.
