Congress felicitated agriculture scientists and
farmers on the occasion of 86th birth anniversary of former Chief
Minister Pt Shyamacharan Shukla at 11 am at Congress Bhawan on Monday. Notably,
the Congress observes Shukla’s birth anniversary as ‘Kisan Diwas’ every year
and felicitates selected agriculture experts and farmers on the occasion. On
Monday, the party felicitated senior agriculture scientist Dr JM Pandagare from
Dau Kalyan Singh Research Area Bhatapara, Dr PK Chandrakar from Indira Gandhi
Agricultural University (IGAU), farmer Ajay Verma from village Mangsa, farmer
Shivnandan Shrivas from village Fingeshwar, Ramkrishna Sahu from Kurud, Anil
Kumar Agrawal from village Gudelia and Narender Kumar from village Bilari. Earlier,
the party leaders paid tribute to Shukla by garlanding his statue at Gaurav
Path at 10:30 am. The Congress leaders present on both the occasions were
former PCC president Dhanendra Sahu, legislator Amitesh Shukla, DCC Raipur
Urban president Inderchand Dhariwal and others.
