Cong hails Centre decision to start direct train for Nanded


Raipur, February 22, 2012

Congress has hailed Centre’s decision to start direct train for Sikh community’s religious place Nanded (Maharashtra) via Chhattisgarh. The PCC spokesperson Mahendra Chhabda said that the direct train facility would make the journey of the Sikh pilgrims from the state as well as adjoining states like Orissa more comfortable. The train will be operated from Howrah to Nanded via Raipur. The train will start from February 23. Chhabda also hailed the decision of the Union Railway Ministry to include in the next budget the proposal of stating new train for five main religious places of Sikh community by commencing Sikh circuit train. Chhabda urged the Centre to also include Chhattisgarh cities in the Sikh circuit. Notably, the proposal will incorporate Akal Takht of Amritsar, Anandpur Sahib, Damdama Sahib, Patna Sahib and Hujur Sahib of Nanded.
